I had a wonderful experience here. Service and food was fantastic. The interior itself is very clean and has a classy touch.  At first my partner wasn't thrilled to dine here, but after, was blown away by how great everything was. He was so full but kept eating because he was really enjoying himself! Compared to the Arlington location, this is on the "upscale" vibe...  not surprised since it's in downtown area.

We got the cold appetizer that came with a little bit of everything. All was excellent, the ezme was a winner and would say the baba ganoush was my least favorite. It was a little too strong tasting for my liking. As an entree, we shared the beef shish kabab. I didn't expect much from this dish as I've had many kabab's and they are very common, but this one in particular felt like I was eating a steak that was tender and packed full of flavor. It exceeded my expectations, and lit up my face first bite. If this fell on he floor I would honestly pick it up and still eat it...

Ended the night with some Turkish coffee and tossed it over for some fortune reading! Will definitely be back!

Update: had the dolmas and they are the freshest dolmas I've ever had! Never had them served cold but they were amazing and refreshing.

We watched luscious mediterranean dishes fly past our table as we tried to decide what to order from the lengthy, two-course, prix-fixe lunch menu at Istanbul Grill.

Service was sedulously skillful and speedy, and the meal's progression was timed flawlessly from our initial order and the arrival of the drinks, starters, and entreés, to the final presentation of the bill.

We decided to begin with zucchini cakes for him and baba ghanoush for me. Although the zucchini cakes were light on zuke and heavy on cake, my baba ghanoush was excellent, lightly spiced, laced with oil, and slightly smoky, just as it should be.

His glass of white wine provided palliative care, while my Turkish beer brought balance to the baba. I kept slathering the eggplant spread on pieces of toasted pita that the waiter happily supplied.

We both hit the jackpot with the rainbow trout. Thoroughly deboned and grilled as a butterfly filet, it was accompanied with griddled veggies, a half-lemon for squeezing, and a sumptuously savory rice-vermicelli mix that was an impeccable imitation of rice-a-roni, the San Francisco treat.

We both declined dessert, but left feeling sated, happy, and ready for a day of adventure downtown in old Fort Worth.

Thank you Istanbul Grill. You definitely deserve 5 stars.

I would like to start by saying that I LOVE the food here. The gyro meat is some of the most tender and flavorful I've ever had. The eggplant purée is to die for. Ive yet to order anything that did not taste amazing! The reason for the two stars is the service. Service is extremely hit or miss. I work in Sundance square and usually will order a meal to go about once every three weeks or so. Of the last three times I have ordered to go I have had to go back twice. Once for no pita with my gyro and just now because they didn't include the tzatziki sauce. We also recently fined in and the entire meal took about two hours from the time we sat down to the time we left, service was that slow. It really sucks because the food is so good but if this kind of service continues I will not be ordering here again.

Update: changed from two stars to five. Very few places will take customer feedback and try and correct problems like this place has. They have been very genuine and attentive the few times I have been back after posting my review, even apologizing for past issues. Food is still as spectacular as ever!
